The Family That Lived With Elephants – Survival Documentary
Firstly, the Survival TV series is one of the longest-running nature documentaries. In fact it is one of the most successful too. Survival was also an independent production for Anglia Television in the UK. Of course, this was part of the independent television franchises. Obviously, in turn, they usually share their quality productions nationwide.
Family That Lived With Elephants
To begin with, Dr. Iain Douglas-Hamilton is a young Scottish scientist and his family are at the centre of this documentary. Indeed, for five years they were at home in Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania. There, they also get to know the hundreds of elephants individually. In fact, there were over 500 elephants in the area.
Indeed, the documentary was from 1983 and has the vintage feel to it. Moreover, family hardly say anything in the show. As a matter of fact, the commentary is from David Niven.
The documentary also continues to show how the fertile area is able to support a massive herd of elephants. Obviously with such a large population of elephants, food is at a premium. However, they do survive but the acacia trees do suffer a lot. So, watch this cool nature documentary and tell us what you think below.
