To begin with, the setting for this BBC comedy sketch was a hardware shop. It was originally on television in 1976 and shows a great performance by The Two Ronnies. Obviously, this comedy duo were masters for playing on words or homophones.

Ronnie Corbett plays the part of the shopkeeper while Ronnie Barker plays the part of the customer. Indeed, Barker asks for a few items in his southern English accent. However, because of the homophones, Corbett doesn’t understand first time. For example, when he asks for fork handles, Corbett gives him four candles. Hence the title of this sketch.
